Second Grade Celebrates Pumpkin Day

Second Graders Celebrate Pumpkin Day

Pumpkin DayMrs. Harper's 2nd graders explored pumpkins in their classroom Friday, October 30th.  They spent the morning learning about the parts and life cycle of pumpkins and then held a taste testing of different pumpkin flavored products with pumpkin spice cupcakes being the overwhelming favorite.  Things got a little more hands on (and messy) in the afternoon as they measured different pumpkins' heights and circumferences, created tissue paper and cut out pumpkin crafts, made a life cycle booklet, graphed the morning's taste test results, played pumpkin games, and carved individual pumpkins.  Three students choose to leave their pumpkins to be lit up and decorate ACS's second annual Trunk or Treat and Spooky Walk.  It was a wonderfully exhausting day that would not have been possible without parents sending in pumpkins and three wonderful volunteers who helped man the stations!Pumpkin DayPumpkin Day
