Eighth Graders Enjoy Outdoor Education
Canoeing at Camp Don Lee

Eighth grade students enjoyed their outdoor learning adventure at Camp Don Lee.  In addition to several team-building activities on the low ropes course, students rotated to three stations: Man and the Neuse, Tidal Creek, and Settlers. Students were fascinated with  collecting specimens in the creek as they were canoeing. They learned about  factors that affect the water quality of the Neuse River as they measured the ph and oxygen levels in river samples. They also experienced life as a coastal settler as they visited a settler's cabin and made dipped wax candles.
