ACS Eighth Graders have been digging deeper into North Carolina's history while applying math skills and concepts! Recently students practiced graphing data while analyzing the conflict over state representation in the late 1700s. After reviewing the data and studying different plans presented at the Continental Congress, students created their own plan for fair representation. Later we applied comparative graphing when studying the different populations in NC from late 1700s through the mid-1800s. Students analyzed the correlation of total population to slave population, especially focusing on the increase of slave population during this time period. Bridging subjects together helps our students make a stronger connection to our content.
