Dr. Seuss

ACS celebrated reading and the life of Dr. Seuss last week by participating in Read Across America.  School-wide, students and staff read books by Dr. Seuss, searched for Dr. Seuss characters in a scavenger hunt, and dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters.  Other activities took place in individual classrooms.

While Mrs. Gaskins's 2nd grade class read many books by Dr. Seuss the week of March 2nd,  the highlight of the week was making "oobleck", after reading the book "Bartholomew and the Oobleck".  The students LOVED making this goo and said they would take the recipe home and make it every day.

Ms. Harper's third graders took place in a national event sponsored byDiscovery Education by watching  a live stream video from "Fable Vision" where the authors and illustrators read their book "Going Places."
