Middle school students began with a theme of bridges and ended with a model bridge competition. To compete, the bridge was required to span 35 cm in length and be no more than 8 cm wide.  First place went to Ramon and Nathan with a beam bridge named, Experiment #2, which held a whopping 422 pounds! They credit their success with the way they placed their planks both horizontally and then vertically in the fashion of plywood. Second place went to Dani and Clarissa with their truss bridge, Gladys, which held 256 pounds. Another truss bridge wrapped up third place.  This beauty, Holey Bridge,  was built by Mya and Nick and held 205 pounds.  Congratulations to all of our participants.
